Water: in fact the beginning of everything is water. Care should be taken to consume 1.5 or 2 litres of water a day.

Nettle: it leads to a reduction in the symptoms of enlargement of the prostate gland. It is even a natural diuretic. Add 1 teaspoon of dried nettle leaf to a glass of hot water. Wait 10 minutes for it to brew and strain it. Drink this tea you have made two or three times a day. You can take a nettle supplement. The appropriate dose of a nettle supplement is 300 mg. However, you need to consult your doctor to determine the most correct dose for you.

Corn silk: just like nettle it is a natural diuretic. It eliminates the symptoms of prostate enlargement. You can put 6 pieces of fresh corn silk into 4 glasses of water. You can heat this mixture you have made for ten minutes and drink it 3 times a day. Another option is to drop 15 drops of corn silk water into 1 glass of water. You can drink this water daily.

Apple cider vinegar: apple cider vinegar serves to shrink and tighten swollen prostate glands. It enables diseases such as urinary tract infection to be prevented. It also speeds up weight loss. You can add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey to a glass of warm water and drink this water 2 times a day, or you can add a cup of apple cider vinegar into your bath after filling it with hot water. You can rest in that water for about 15 minutes a few times a week.

Pumpkin seeds: pumpkin seeds prevent enlargement by reducing the size of the prostate. You can be protected from this disease by consuming 1 handful of pumpkin seeds a day. As another option, put a handful of crushed fresh pumpkin seeds into a large cup. Then pour boiled water over them. After the mixture has cooled, strain it. You can drink this tea once a week.

Prostate-Fighting Foods

Carrot, tomato and grapefruit: it has been observed that these foods reduce cancerous cells by 18 per cent. In addition, lycopene, which is abundantly present in tomatoes, is known for its cancer-preventing property.

Whole grains: wholegrain cereals containing protein have an effect on the growth of the tumour in patients who have developed prostate cancer. Grain foods also protect the patient from constipation. Constipation is a condition that must be protected against particularly in this period. Because it strains urine output.

Selenium: the selenium level is high in foods such as fruit, vegetables, eggs, garlic and seafood. According to the result of one study, these foods reduce prostate cancer by 50 per cent.

Oil seeds such as hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts: there is benefit in consuming approximately 30 grams of these seeds in the daily diet.

Alongside these, balanced and regular nutrition is also important. The immune system of an individual who eats in a balanced and regular way is also strong. The body of a prostate cancer patient is more prone to many diseases such as urinary tract infection. As the immune system is strengthened, this risk decreases.

In addition to these, prostate cancer patients also need to pay attention to the following;

  • Go to the toilet immediately when you need to urinate.
  • Make going to the toilet regularly a habit.
  • Do not consume too much fluid at one time.
  • Do not use over-the-counter medicines without consulting your doctor.
  • Take care of yourself in cold weather. Prefer clothes that will keep you warm.
